Dr. Çolpan participated as an invited speaker in the workshop entitled “Carbon Economy and Sustainable Energy Policies in the European Green Deal Process,” organized by the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) and hosted by Uşak University on October 16–17, 2026.
On October 17, Dr. Colpan delivered a presentation entitled “Energy Storage Systems: Battery Technologies, Pumped Storage, and Türkiye’s 2030 Energy Storage Capacity Targets” within the session “Sustainable Energy Transition: Renewable Energy, Storage, and Smart Grids,” chaired by Prof. Dr. Arif Hepbaşlı. His presentation addressed the role of energy storage technologies in supporting renewable energy integration, with particular emphasis on battery systems, pumped hydro energy storage, and Türkiye’s future energy storage capacity targets.
The two-day workshop brought together academics, policymakers, and experts from various institutions to discuss the European Green Deal, carbon pricing mechanisms, emissions trading, renewable energy policies, green hydrogen, industrial decarbonization, and sustainable financing. The event provided a platform for interdisciplinary discussions on Türkiye’s energy transition and its long-term net-zero emission goals.
