Dr. Colpan participated in a series of academic collaboration meetings at Kyoto University on July 27–28, 2026, as part of a Dokuz Eylül University delegation led by Rector Prof. Dr. Bayram Yılmaz and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hamdi Şükür Kılıç.
The delegation met with Kyoto University President Prof. Dr. Nagahiro Minato, Executive Vice-President Prof. Dr. Tetsuo Sawaragi, and Prof. Dr. Asli M. Colpan, as well as faculty members from the Graduate School of Medicine, Graduate School of Engineering, and Graduate School of Management.
During the visits, discussions focused on potential joint research projects, academic and student mobility, graduate studies, international funding opportunities, and joint scientific activities. Particular attention was given to energy technologies, hydrogen and fuel cells, advanced materials and laser technologies, medicine and health sciences, earthquake and disaster research, and management studies.
The meetings provided an important basis for strengthening long-term and multidisciplinary academic cooperation between Dokuz Eylül University and Kyoto University.
