Dr. Colpan participated in the 2nd International Congress on Sustainable Energy and Related Technologies (ICSET 2026), held in Palermo, Italy, on August 31–September 3, 2026.
As part of the congress, he joined the IAGE-Italy Round Table entitled “Challenges and Perspectives of Green Energy in the Next Decade” as an invited speaker. During the discussion, he highlighted the importance of integrated energy systems, renewable hydrogen production, electrolyzer operation under variable renewable power conditions, hydrogen storage, membrane reactors, CO₂ capture, and multi-scale energy system modeling.
Dr. Colpan also presented the oral paper entitled “Effect of Balance-of-Plant Design Parameters on the Load-Dependent Specific Energy Consumption of PEM Water Electrolyzer.” The presentation focused on the influence of Balance-of-Plant components on the overall energy consumption of PEM water electrolyzer systems under different operating conditions.
During the congress, he also followed recent developments in hydrogen production, electrolysis technologies, fuel cells, ammonia, CO₂ conversion, energy storage, and integrated energy systems, while holding discussions with international researchers on potential scientific publications and future project collaborations.
