Research Programs for Undergraduate Students

For your final year graduation project, you might be interested in applying the following Tubitak programs:

Tubitak 2209/A: You should apply it in your 3rd year of undergraduate studies. The student or a team of students writes a research proposal and submit it online to Tubitak. The duration of the project is one year at most. The maximum amount of support is 2500 TL. This funding can only be used for stationary, travel (bus ticket, car rental, or gas for your own car), cost for analyses, and consumables. The application deadlines, forms, and other details can be found in the program website.

Tubitak 2241/A: The research topic should be related to improvement of a product, method or process of an industrial organization. The research should be carried out integrated with an industrial organization; and you need a support letter from this organization. You should preferably apply it in your 3rd year of undergraduate studies. The student or a team of students writes a research proposal and submit it online to Tubitak. The maximum amount of support is 4000 TL. This funding can only be used for stationary, travel (bus ticket, car rental, or gas for your own car), cost for analyses, and consumables. There are several international programs for doing a short-term research during your undergraduate studies or long-term research after graduation.

Mitacs Globalink: Mitacs Globalink brings top students from universities in Brazil, China, India, Mexico, Turkey and Vietnam to Canada each year from May to September to participate in a research internship with a faculty member at a Canadian university. Students also receive skills training and meet with researchers and business representatives from across Canada. You should apply it at the end of your 2nd year of undergraduate studies. Monbukagakusho Scholarship: You can apply this scholarship to conduct your graduate studies in Japan. You can get more information from the program website.

Fulbright Scholarship: You can apply this scholarship to conduct your graduate studies in U.S.. You can get more information from the program website.

 

Research Programs for Graduate Students

Tubitak 2211: You can apply to this program if you intend to do MSc or PhD in a Turkish University. 4th year undergraduate students, first year MSc students, and PhD students can apply. The amount of full scholarship is 1000 TL/month for a MSc student and 1800 TL/month for a PhD student. You can get more information from the program website.

Tubitak 2213: You can apply to this program if you intend to do PhD abroad. The support is for the first two years of the PhD program (up to US$ 60,000/year). Your GPA for your undergraduate and MSc studies should be 3/4 and 3.2/4, respectively; and you should certify your language knowledge (TOEFL, IELTS, ÜDS, KPDS or YDS). In addition, you should have taken ALES or GRE or GMAT. You can get more information from the program website.

Tubitak 2214/A: You can apply to this program to conduct some part of your PhD studies abroad while you are registered in a Turkish university. The duration of the scholarship is maximum one year. The amount of support is Euro 1400 for European countries and US$ 1800 for other countries. You can get more information from the program website.

Tubitak 2214/B: You can apply to this program if you will conduct a joint PhD study between a Turkish University and a university abroad. You should be registered in a Turkish university. A protocol should be signed between universities. You can get more information from the program website.

Tubitak 2223/A: You should apply to this program if you have submitted a paper to be presented in a conference which is held in Turkey . Your paper should have been accepted for oral presentation and you should be under 35. You can get more information from the program website.

Tubitak 2224: You should apply to this program if you have submitted an abstract to be presented in an international conference or a summer/winter school, which are held abroad. You can get more information from the program website.

Research Competitions

TUBITAK’s graduation project competition: 4th year undergraduate students can apply. The research topic should be related to improvement of a product, method or process of an industrial organization.
